I was stationed in Hawaii at the time, we were a few hours behind everybody else so about the time I got to work that morning, it had already happened. All we had at work was a radio and everyone on the night shift was asking us what was going on but I never got to turn my tv on before I left for work. The place was in complete lock down, no civilian workers were allowed on base and all other vehicles allowed on got searched in and out. Everyone who lived off base were obviously late some people were told just to go back home just to cut down the congestion at the front gate, other alternative gates on base were closed and guarded by vehicles and heavy machine guns. Of course none of this would stop us from doing our 3-4 mile run before taking our shift that morning. They finally managed to get us a tv so we could actually see what was going on. The place was pretty crazy for a couple of weeks, and obviously security on all the bases was never the same after that.

I was sleeping, I would have been in the Third or Fourth grade at the time and I had a year round school which there means you get a three week break every so often depending on a random draw(a case of enough teachers just not enough classrooms so the kids were split into five groups and rotated breaks, trust me it is a lot less confusing than you think).  I was sleeping and my mom at the time was staying at home and woke my brother and I up to the scene of both buildings on fire, it is one of those things that stays with you, I remember being scared because I lived in Las Vegas at the time about a mile off of the Strip and me thinking they were targeting tall buildings so I would see one of the big casinos getting hit, it still sickens me to this day that they would just kill civilians like that.

Sure did. All three of those things were horrible (. I cannot even imagine what the families and loved ones have lived through after those things. They are very traumatic events in our history. I can't believe anyone would even conceive of, never mind actually do any of those things. I have trouble wrapping my mind around them.
